A new look for the blog

After creating thekookycakelady.com and seeing the original look next to it, I finally decided to give it a look that worked better with the website. What do you think? We also decided on a new name seeing as the website is emblazoned with "That Little Cake Place" already. I think I like it.

We're still working out the bugs... you know, tweaking the pages until I'm satisfied with the layout and content, adjusting pictures, adding, deleting, updating... the list is endless. Who knew html was so much, uh, 'fun'. Yeah, that's the word I'm looking for. Fun.

Recent Cake News

Well, fellow kooky cake fanatics, there have been some updates recently...

We ordered our first batch of T-shirts yesterday from TeeZerts, and they should be in next week. I'll post pictures of them when they get here. For my little Sous Chefs, they even say so on the front. I can't wait to give them to the kiddos for Christmas for when they help me in the kitchen.

We've also done a few cakes recently worth posting pictures of.

Houston, we have a website!

It's true!!! After a long week of tinkering, we've finally launched thekookycakelady.com! Be sure to check it out and see what nifty things we've come up with. :)

I can't begin to tell you how happy this makes me. Now we can get the word out to everyone about these tasty goodies. We're working on the gallery and posting pictures; I have to talk to my web designer on the best way to do that, but for now you can see some in my facebook album here. I'm also considering a redesign on this blog so that it matches the website a little better. So in the mean time, wish us luck!

Oh, and by the way, be sure to follow us and be another person who likes cake so you can stay up-to-date with holiday and seasonal specials offered through our site!

A short breather...

You know, I thought I was out of work for a while, that I could relax, possibly stress because I didn't have any cakes to keep me busy. Apparently the Lord was listening and laughing...

My best friend, Amy (my maid of honor), is getting married!!! Guess who is doing the cake? You guessed right. For her wedding cake, she's asked me to do another rendition of the Washington D.C. Temple cake, this time with the Annex and bridge. I learned my lesson on the last cake, so this time should go a lot better, less stressful, etc.

In the mean time, I'll be busy with other cakes. Stay tuned! (and be careful what you wish for. :-)
